Dear students, parents, and guardians;
Welcome all the students and families of our Basic Academic Program (BAP)! Many of you have met me or know me from school, and I am so excited for us to be spending the school year together! I am eager to see all my students smiling faces on the first day of school: Wednesday, September 5th, 2018. Our school day starts at 8:25 a.m. Dismissal is at 3:05 p.m.
You should be receiving a copy of the supply list with this letter. There will also be a copy of this list at https://www.teacherlists.com/. The students and I will be labeling and organizing supplies by the third day of school, and would prefer that supplies be brought in by that Thursday at the latest (September 6th). I will be supplying all of the notebooks and most of the necessary colored folders, so please don’t feel you need to buy more than what is on the list.
In the program, the students are allowed to bring in a water bottle and a healthy snack to eat at a given time before lunch. (They are often very hungry halfway through our morning, as all 4th and 5th graders are the last to have lunch.) Please send your child in with a bottle they can fill at school and a small, healthy snack each day. Also, if there are any families that can send in an extra box of tissues at any time, they would be greatly appreciated. Our supply seems to diminish very quickly during the year!
As the district is working on the website this summer, I am unsure as to whether my updated classroom webpage will be available. I will let you know when this happens and give you directions on how to get there.
If you have any questions, please contact me at any time! You can email me at [email protected] (best way to reach me) or leave a message for me at Valleyview Elementary: 433-8252. I will try to get back to you as soon as I can, as I will be checking my emails throughout the summer.
Have a magnificent, fun-filled summer! I’m hoping to get to New York City and see the new Hotel Transylvania movie! I can’t wait to talk to all of you about what you did over the vacation and to start having a fantastic new school year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Tina Stanley
